Posting on Instagram, actor Cary Elwes, who rose to fame in Reiner's iconic movie *The Princess Bride*, explained he only now felt able to share openly about his deep grief.
"Sufficient time has passed that I can finally express my sorrow into words," shared Elwes, adding that his initial encounter with Reiner left him smitten. "As we began passing more hours together I understood this was someone I desired in my life."
The actor uploaded never-before-seen clips from the film, adding that he doesn't recollect "any day without laughter".
"The film is about love, loyalty and sacrifice. Principles that Rob held dear. Which is among the many reasons he was the perfect person to helm it," Elwes expressed.
He additionally honored Michele Reiner, stating: "Claiming that they were a incredible duo would be an oversimplification. My heart still pangs every time I recall you." He concluded with a quote from *The Princess Bride*: "Sure, death cannot stop true love but existence is agony without you."
Martin Scorsese Remembers a Colleague and Comrade
In a different tribute, revered director Martin Scorsese paid homage to Reiner, whom he originally knew in the 1970s.
"Right away, I loved hanging out with Rob. We had a innate rapport for each other. He was very funny and sometimes acutely humorous, but he was never the kind of guy who would dominate the room," Scorsese said.
Scorsese mentioned Reiner's cameo appearance in his 2013 film *The Wolf of Wall Street*, playing the father of the protagonist.

In a new development, a Los Angeles judge ruled to block the disclosure of the Reiners' autopsy reports, at the request from the local authorities.
