Hulu is Developing a Far Cry TV Show from the Creators of Alien: Earth and the Comedy Hit.

The latest Far Cry game that gamers dived into was Far Cry 6, which featured Giancarlo Esposito in the role of the villain, Antón, and came out during October 6, 2021. As a series, it has a reputation for embracing action and mayhem with the same excitement, all while telling gripping, ideologically themed stories. Little surprise that the network’s decision for a Far Cry limited-run show pulled in two creators whose work have represented all of those qualities.

Show Details

Adapted from Ubisoft's hit video game series, the limited anthology series will stream on Hulu and will be created by FX Productions. The show will also follow the video games' style by introducing a fresh setting and cast of characters in every instalment.

Key Producers

Rob Mac, creator of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, and Noah Hawley, the visionary behind FX's Alien: Earth and Fargo, will work as executive producers on the series via their labels, More Better Productions for Mac, and 26 Keys for Hawley. They will be joined by Emilia Serrano for 26 Keys, Nick Frenkel for 3 Arts, Jackie Cohn for More Better Productions, John Campisi, Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, and Austin Dill for Ubisoft Film & Television.

We’ve shared magnificent relationships with Rob Mac and Noah Hawley for a total six series and 32 seasons of television, and we couldn’t be more excited that they are teaming up for Far Cry,” stated Nick Grad, President, FX Entertainment, in a announcement. “I have no doubt that they will deliver this story in a way that is original, engrossing, and incredibly entertaining. We also want to appreciate our associates at Ubisoft for trusting us with this popular property.”

Upcoming Developments

Mac will also star in the show, but as of now, we have no details on what role that may be. Hawley's Alien: Earth was just renewed for a second instalment, with FX and Disney finalizing a new overall deal with the creator.

“Being able to collaborate alongside Noah Hawley is a goal achieved,” remarked Rob Mac. “Ubisoft has been remarkably supportive, placing faith in us with one of the most iconic video-game universes ever created. And through it all, my FX team constantly supports me with their ongoing trust and support.”

“The aspect I admire about the Far Cry game series is that it’s an standalone series. Every title is a interpretation of a idea, the same way every run of Fargo is a variation on a theme,” explained Hawley. “To develop a big action show that can evolve from one instalment to the next, while always exploring the nature of humanity through this intricate and turbulent lens, is a ultimate goal. I’m excited to partner with Rob and introduce our mutual bold, daring sensibility to the television.”

A time frame for when we can expect the new Far Cry show has not been announced. The series will be available on Hulu in the United States and on Disney Plus in other regions.
