Jet Carrying Pete Hegseth Required to Land in UK Due to Fracture in Cockpit Window
A jet ferrying Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an unplanned landing in the United Kingdom on Wednesday after a crack was found in the aircraft's cockpit window, per an announcement which confirmed that all passengers were secure.
"The jet touched down following standard protocol and everyone onboard, such as Defense Secretary Hegseth, is secure," an official representative stated in a online announcement.
He was traveling back from a short visit to Brussels during the flight.
This occurrence is not the first time that a US military aircraft transporting a high-ranking official has encountered technical problems.
In a previous incident this year, a United States Air Force aircraft carrying Marco Rubio to the German city of Munich was required to return to Washington DC after experiencing a mechanical problem.
