Palestinian-American Youth Released After Nine-Month Period in Israel's Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian teenager after completing a nine-month period in imprisonment by Israel absent formal charges was released.

Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old during his detention last February throughout the West Bank territory, where he was visiting while residing in Florida for allegedly throwing stones at Jewish settlers, claims he consistently denied.

American diplomatic officials said it welcomed Mohammed's liberation.

Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital for treatment immediately after release, relatives told the media.

Family described him as pale, underweight, while battling health issues acquired while detained.

Through an official statement, Mohammed's uncle spoke of the family's "overwhelming sense of relief".

Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "living a horrific and endless nightmare" over the last nine months.

"At this moment, our priority is getting Mohammed prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after experiencing harsh conditions and cruel circumstances for months."

American authorities announced ongoing to extend consular services to the teenager's relatives.

{"American leadership gives utmost importance than the safety and security of US citizens"," it added.

A group of American legislators had signed a letter to the state department and the White House, requesting additional efforts for his freedom.

Mr Ibrahim, a father-of-four managing a frozen treats business based in Tampa, previously said his child admitted guilt to throwing stones due to physical abuse.

He had not seen nor direct contact following the detention, learning information solely about his son's condition through judicial records.

Mohammed was held lacking indictment within Ofer penitentiary in the West Bank.

Additionally housing mature inmates, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and homicide.

There are around 350 Palestinian minors in security custody currently imprisoned in Israel, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
